A quick introduction to Freising, new routes through the ancient episcopal city, and a few entertaining hours are all brought to you by Freising’s city walks. A calendar of guided city tours on specific days and times offers something for everyone – individuals and families, visitors and Freising locals alike. Tours can be attended only with prior registration.

Tour of the historic city centre
Our tour of Freising’s historic city centre takes in the main sights around the Town Hall and Cathedral Hill and gives an overview of how the oldest city on the River Isar came to be.
Together with our city guides, discover the winding streets of Freising's town and learn interesting facts about the special features of the oldest city on the Isar between the magnificent facades, the town hall, the parish church of St. George and the former canons' houses. Marvel at the almost 4000-year history of the Domberg and hear interesting facts about the development of the former prince-bishop's residence.
Information on the tour
This tour is held regularly on Saturdays only in german and with prior registration.
All tours start at Freising Tourist Information Office, Rindermarkt 20 near Marienplatz around 90 minutes. The starting time is 11 am. Tour costs are: EUR 8 per person; EUR 5 for school or higher education students and pensioners; EUR 0 for the tour participant’s own children and grandchildren under the age of 18.
Please note that tour routes go through historic parts of the city which may not all be fully wheelchair-accessible.
Freising markets with pleasure

Because already in the year 996 Freising received from Emperor Otto III. the market law. In the course of time, the market has changed again and again.
