Green in the city
Treat yourself to a time-out in nature
There are numerous islands of peace and quiet in the centre of the city, which you can explore for yourself on our "Discover Freising's greenery" city walk (only available in German). From the Amtsgerichtsgarten, the idyllic oasis in the old town, you walk to the Domberg with its mighty avenue of lime trees and the southern slope of the Domberg with its meadows, fruit trees and vines. The path to Weihenstephaner Berg leads past the fragrant rose garden and along the Fürstendamm, a marvellous nature trail next to the idyllic rippling Moosach.
Continue along the Weihenstephaner footpath up the hill, where enchanting gardens line up one after the other. Downhill, you walk along a magnificent art trail with remarkable sculptures by contemporary artists. A few more steps will take you to the "official" end of the circular route, the perennial viewing garden. The educational and viewing garden for perennials and woody plants will delight you with its variety of plants and blaze of colour. The adjoining allotment garden offers tips for growing local herbs, vegetables and plants.
