City Museum
Informative and exciting presentation of Freising's history
After several years of renovation work on the historic Asam building on Marienplatz, the City Museum reopened on 20 July 2024. The exhibition space, which now runs in a circular route around the inner courtyard of the baroque four-winged building, has almost tripled in size. more
Freising Diocesan Museum
The objects in the display collection cover almost two millennia
The collection of the Diocesan Museum includes over 40,000 objects from all areas of church art and culture. The museum focuses on late medieval ecclesiastical art from old Bavaria, Swabia and the Alpine region as well as art-historically important works of South German Baroque and Rococo, but also artifacts from the fields of liturgy, popular piety, pilgrimage and monastic culture. more
