Overview of our group tours

Tours of the historic city with optional features

All tours of Freising’s old quarter take visitors to the main historical sights around the Town Hall. The tour of the historic city can be combined with an in-depth visit to Cathedral Hill and the Cathedral with interior, the Baroque Church of Sts Peter and Paul in Neustift, or Weihenstephan Hill. Some tours can be booked in English or French.

Culinary city tours

Join our guides to explore the Green Market, held on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the city. Freising was granted market rights by Emperor Otto III in the year 996. The market is still a festival for all the senses today – and we’d love you to join us!

Our culinary tours also throw light on the Bavarian version of gourmet heaven – white sausages, beer and soft pretzels! Wherever you try these famous veal sausages – in a traditional inn or on a tour of one of Freising’s breweries – they will be spiced up with fascinating historical background and entertaining anecdotes from city life. Some tours can also be booked in English.

Freising for kids

Freising’s tours for children naturally take in the main historical locations in the old city and on Cathedral Hill. The language and the stories about how life was lived in the episcopal city on the banks of the River Isar are tailored to children. These city tours can be complemented by explorations of the natural world in the Weltwald arboretum and forest trail, which also offer tours for children. “Freising for kids” is only available in German.
