See and experience Freising's history at the City Museum
After several years of renovation of the historic Asam building on Marienplatz, the city museum on the first floor was reopened on 20 July 2024. In a tour around the inner courtyard of the baroque four-winged building, Freising and its history are presented to visitors in an informative and exciting way. The focus is on around 350 selected objects or groups of objects - from prehistoric archaeological finds to the many precious works of art and craftsmanship of the old episcopal city to documents from Freising's recent past. Media stations provide additional information and in-depth explanations.
The museum has now tripled in size and has rooms for the permanent exhibition, special events and educational programmes. A museum shop rounds off the offer.
Access is barrier-free.
